What are your collars made of? We have two types of collars: fabric and nylon. Collars are made with a regular 100% cotton fabric with a heavy duty interfacing core or ribbon reinforced with heavy duty nylon webbing. Collars are triple stitched and box stitched around all stress points. Fabric collars are protected with fray stop at the ends to minimize fraying. Our fabric collars are breathable and soft, so they are especially great for pets with sensitive skin or fur. The fabric collars wear much like hemp collars and do soften up over time, therefore they stretch slightly and it is important for you to check the fit of the collar as it wears in and adjust it accordingly.

Standard collar hardware is nickel plated steel. All D-rings are cast in one piece. The buckles are heavy duty and made especially for dog and cat collars by a leading manufacturer in the U.S.A. All collars are adjustable.

Cat collars feature the break-away buckle which will release, this insures your cat’s safety if he or she should get tangled up. All cat collars also come with a removable bell.

How Safe are Handmade Collars? Very! See above for a description of how we construct collars. While our collars are very durable and can last for years, it is important you periodically check your dog's collar for signs of wear. We do not guarantee our products against excessive pulling, chewing, or scratching. We do not recommend using our collars for tie out purposes. As with all collars, only you can determine the suitability for your pet. Our fabric collars wear much like hemp collars and tend to soften up over time, so they may stretch slightly and it is important for you to check the fit of the collar and adjust it accordingly. Cat collars are made with a break-away buckle, this is to ensure that if your cat gets caught up on something, they can get free. Cat collars should not be used with leashes as if your cat pulls hard enough the break-away buckle will do what it is intended to and unlatch.

Can BowWowzerZ collars be washed? Absolutely! The CEO of BowWowzerZ wouldn't have it any other way! (After all he is a Lab and his collar must be water friendly!) Hand washing is recommended but they can also be run through a washing machine on the gentle cycle (place inside a pillowcase). The collar should air dry completely before being worn.

Do you make custom collars? Definitely! We are more than happy to develop collars in custom fabrics, for custom applications, or for special dogs. Do you want a 1 inch collar for a smaller dog? No problem! Do you want a 3/4 inch collar for a big dog? No problem! For custom orders please contact us and we will be happy to discuss various options for you!

Will my collar look exactly like the picture? We do our very best to accurately represent the collar.  However, due to different color settings on computer screens it depends on your setting.  All images on the website are of our 1 inch collars. Some collars will view differently when reduced in width. If we feel the design of the collar is compromised by the smaller size, we restrict availability of those designs. If you have any questions please ask before ordering and we will be happy to answer any questions you have!

How long will it take to get my collar? All orders are typically filled within 2 days of ordering. If there is an unexpected delay we will contact you immediately! Custom orders may take longer depending on the order, we will give you an estimate of how long production will take when you order.

What methods of payment do you accept? You can pay with your paypal account. If you prefer to send a check or money order you can do that also! Just print out our order form (need link) and mail it into our address along with your payment. If you are ordering a collar or leash that is limited in stock, please send us an email!

What method of shipping do you use and what are the shipping costs? We generally ship USPS. We currently ship to the US and Canada. We try to keep our shipping prices low, so if the shipping charge is over $3.00 more than the actual shipping costs, we will refund that money to you. Return & Exchange Policy If you are not satisfied with your purchase you may return the items for refund or exchange, less shipping.

If you need to return or exchange an item, please contact us by email within 7 days of receiving your order. Items must be returned in the same condition as received. Items for return or exchange must be received within 21 days of the original delivery date. If you desire an exchange for a different size or style of collar, please follow the above instructions. We will refund your original purchase and you may place a new order for the desired item.

Custom orders will be exchanged on a case by case basis. Since we are not able to personally measure your pet, it is your responsibility to measure correctly and provide us with the correct measurements. If you have any questions on how to correctly measure your pet, please contact us.

Do you have a wholesale discount? Yes, we offer wholesale to approved retail stores. Please use our (wholesale contact form) to inquire about wholesale pricing and we will send you pricing and more information about our collars. Please inquire ONLY if you operate a pet related business and can provide a copy of your Tax ID number or EIN. We do NOT support traditional pet stores in which pets are sold for profit. Selling to these traditional pet stores where they support back yard breeders goes against our business plan and purpose for this business. If you are a traditional pet store, please do not apply as you will be refused. **** However, if you are a pet store in which the pets housed at your store are available for adoption with a rescue group, then you are exempt and we welcome you to inquire about wholesale pricing!****

Donation for rescue/adoption groups? We are passionate about animal welfare and are always happy to donate to animal groups!

Wholesale Discount For Rescues We offer a generous wholesale discount to rescue groups in which they can sell our collars on their online store or shelter to earn additional funds for their group. If you are interested in this option please contact us (wholesale rescue request form). Your rescue group does not necessarily need to be a 501(c)3 organization.

Our Rescue Referral Program We will donate 10% of all sales to your group when customers buy from us. To enroll in this program, you will need to place our banner link on your website and customers will need to mention your organizations name in the “message to seller” box at time of check out.

Who do we support? We support ALL animal charities! Our local favorite is Kish, who founded www.4luvofdog.com Kish takes in dogs (and some cats) who have been passed up by other animal rescue groups in the area. Whether they are older, deaf, scared and abused, or a so-called bully breed, Kish is still willing to help them. We admire her passion, persistence, and love for the pets that have been forgotten about. She has saved countless lives and we appreciate everything she does. The CEO of BowWowzerZ (Cinder) is currently sharing his home with one of Kish's dogs, Shyla. While the CFO and COO (Angel and Taffy) just shared their home with two of Kish's cats that were available for adoption. The kittens have now found their loving forever home, but we are sure that another foster will come and meet the crew before too long! We also donate collars to the adoptable animals of 4luvofdog and we also donate a portion of our proceeds to 4luvofdog and a few other rescue charities.
